About Country Waxcense
My name is Sara Marshall and I am the owner of Country Waxcense, a small but well established candle company located in the White Mountains of NH. Here, we hand blend and pour a large variety of high quality natural and paraffin wax candles. I originally began making candles in January of 1994 as a hobby while I was at home starting a family. By 1997 my hobby had become a very successful home based Candle Company. We had two full time employees', a web site, and several representatives marketing our products. We had outlets throughout the Northeast from “Chutter’s” in our Home town of Littleton to the “Windham Tea Company” catalog and e-commerce sites such as “Best of New England” based out of Rhode Island.Over the next few years, we build a solid reputation as a reliable source of superior hand-crafted candle products. In 1999, I obtained a Certificate from NH’s International Trade Resource Center for their International Trade Certificate Program. This contact led to exposure to buyers from the UK, Ireland, Belgium, China, and Japan. It was the representation at The Birmingham Fair of 2003 that we saw our greatest overseas response. Our hard work and dedication earned compliments and quality comparisons of our products to that of “Yankee Candle” the largest importer at the time. Despite our many successes, life interupped and I made the difficult decision to close the business later that year. I made a career change, one which would ultimately turn out to be an invaluable learning experience that has gotten us where we are today.
Working for a well known Natural Fiber Catalog Company, surrounded by talented co-workers I would over the next five years come to appreciate not only consumers exploding demand for Natural products but I also gained exposure to all facets of the business from marketing and creative to finance. It is with this new found knowledge and my love for my candle business that I find myself reviving Country Waxcense to be even better and more successful than it had become in the past.
Due to high demand we continue to offer paraffin candles and remain focused on creating the finest quality candle products on the market. As you might guess, we have added a new line of 100% Natural Palm Wax Candles and we will be purchasing only environmentally friendly packaging and shipping supplies whenever possible.
